The Facebook game Mobwars, created by David Maestri, allows the player to start as a small-time petty thief and grow a criminal empire by doing jobs such as pulling heists and drug dealing, buying properties, and attacking rival mob families.
The growth of a player's Mobwars mob family depends upon friends joining the mob, or the hiring of “hired guns” from the Mobwars Godfather by trading in Godfather Favor points. Up to 500 friends can join a player's mob family, and an additional 500 hired guns can be added using Godfather points, which makes earning Godfather Favor points an important aspect of the Mobwars game.
Turn Godfather Points into Hired Guns
Godfather Favor points are generated at the rate of one per level increase, and to purchase 2 hired guns from the Godfather costs 10 Godfather points. There are a few methods of increasing a player's number of Godfather Favor points. These include:
- Purchasing Godfather Favor points through Paypal for real money.
- Earning Favor points by filling in questionnaires and surveys, or joining particular sites, which are advertised through the Mobwars application.
- Use the official Mobwars Toolbar.
The Mob Wars Toolbar
The Mobwars Toolbar increases a player's Godfather points by being downloaded and installed on the player's web browsers. By making searches through the Mobwars Toolbar search function, the player is awarded Godfather points at the rate of 1 Favor point for every 5 searches made, with a limit of 3 Godfather Favor points being generated each day.
The Mobwars Toolbar includes a number of functions useful to the Mobwars player, including:
- A Yahoo!-driven search box: for making searches to earn free Godfather points.
- A number of searches counter: increases with every search made using the Mobwars toolbar.
- A Godfather Favor points earned counter: shows the number of Godfather points generated through the Mobwars toolbar search function for a given day.
- A cash counter: displays the player's non-banked cash reserves.
- A health monitor: displays the player's current health points.
- A Favor points counter: shows the total number of Godfather Favor points available to the player.
- A top rate of interest calculator: displays the property type that will generate the best return for the Mobwars player.
- A quick heal button: opens the Mobwars hospital page and automatically heals the player, banked funds permitting.
The Mobwars Toolbar is constantly being revised, and additional features, and improvements on current features, are eagerly awaited by Mobwars players who already benefit from the additional Godfather Favor points made using the toolbar.
Mob Wars Rate of Interest Calculator
The one function that could be dramatically improved is the Mobwars Rate of Interest Calculator, which determines what property type would be the best investment for the Mobwars player. Currently, this Mobwars calculator tends to default to the low-level Villa property or to Empty Lots, which are unlikely to appeal to an experienced Mobwars player with significant funds banked.
